The only Gundam I've seen is Gundam Wing and that was like watching Macross 7. Are the other Gundams better?

Hahhaaa.... Man you are missing a lot. Gundam wing is not even close to being the best... (KP is gonna hate me for this..)

So most of the other gundams is better...(some are DAMN GOOD). Gundam Wing is one of the alternate universe series.( Sunrise started producing them in 1994..)

You should watch... more of the original UC timeline...( Mobile suit gundam(1979), Z gundam(1984).. Chars counter attack(1988... MS team (1995).... Stardust Memory(1991))

Char's counter attack is by many considered one of the best Mecha Anime movies ever produced..( with outstanding visuals for 1988)

Yep. Gundam has transformable Mecha in general. Z Gundam and ZZ gundam , Victory Gundam, ...are all about transformable mecha......

Which Gundam was the first to feature transformable Mecha? Was there a Gundam to feature transformable mecha before Macross?

The original Mobile Suit Gundam(1979) had a core fighter system...



Which transformed, and then connected to the chest and legs sections in order to form the gundam...




Also the 1979 MSG had a Hero Ship. Called white base...






The folowing Zeta gundam.(1984) introduces massively transforming Mecha....( folowed bu ZZ gundam(1986) and Char's counter attack..)





To this date each almost every gundam series/movie had transformable mecha.....of some sort

Gundam is the best of the sci fi of Japan, nothing (even Macross) can be compared with the gundam universe.

I remember watching MS Gundam on Toonami and Gundam Wing (I like MS Gundam better!)

And I also have all except one of the Zeta Gundam DVD's!



Oh, not all Mobile Suits are transformable, all of the common ones like the Zaku II or the GM or Hizack or what ever, just the Big Bad
Ones that the main characters pilot alot of the time.
